That John Denver... Part 1

We went to the cabin in Colorado last week with Pop, Grammy, Julie, Halle and the boys.
Things I learned:
1. You need a minimum of 2 adults per child over 15 months on a plane OR a marathon of SpongeBob for distraction.
2. It's not appropriate to nurse your 2 year old in public and then immediately hand him potato chip. (Julie- that's for you.)
3. Never, I mean, never sit next to the guy at the bar in cut off wranglers and a flannel shirt. He will tell you his whole life story- in incoherent fragments- including the fact that Animal is responsible for Tommy's overdose. The question the rest of the night was, "Who's Animal?" However, the bartender might feel bad for you and just keep topping off your drinks so you can deal with the weirdo...(Can you tell what Brandon and I had to deal with on our date night?)

Here we are the first time we went to the Frasier river. I'm prepared for the 60 degree weather and so is T. Brandon on the other hand thought it was 90 and wore shorts and t-shirts the whole time. I think there's still a little Wyoming left in my husband.

We pretty much got rained on every afternoon. On Friday, we got a nasty hail storm. Here's Halle and T watching it from the window.

We went to the YMCA camp down the road one day. Halle couldn't stop talking about going on a horse ride. She did awesome and rode Ghost all around the arena...

Thomas on the other hand wanted nothing to do with his horse. Afterward, he proceeded to stand outside the corral and yell, not speak, to the horses in "baa." We've been trying to explain to him that horses say, "neigh" but he looks at us every time and says, "No. Baa." Clearly, we have some work to do.
"Dad, get me off this horse. NOW."

Here they are on the swing at the camp.

And Thomas found the tetherball. He thought it was really funny when B and I were playing. Looks like we're going to have to install one before next year's crawfish boil. I can only imagine Team Taylor on the tetherball court.

T and Halle played tag on the porch anytime we would let them outside. Did I mention that Thomas thinks Halle can do no wrong? He followed her almost everywhere the whole time. He thinks she's super funny. We think they both are.

Man vs. Wild might have a new host soon. (Yes, that's a toy snake. And yes, that's the first thing he did with it.)

Okay, that's it for now. I don't even know if my family in Alvin can check this yet. They still don't all have power. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Tetherball! It's on like Donkey Kong! You'll be sorry you invited Team Taylor to play!
