I'm dreaming of a...

Well, we got the white Christmas. We spent the holiday in Colorado with a ton, and I mean a ton of snow. However we also got a heavy dose of RSV between Halle and Thomas. Halle spent Saturday through last night in Children's Hospital of Denver. So what was supposed to be the kids' first Christmas together in the snow turned into a little bit of a nightmare. But overall, it was great spending time with our family, we just wish it could have been with everyone. (We will have a postponed celebration once we're all virus free and off house arrest.)
Thomas tested positive for RSV yesterday at the local Winter Park pediatric clinic, but his oxygen stats weren't affected like Halle's. Needless to say, we headed down from the mountains early to help the little one breathe. Or at least attempt to breathe through the snot. We're all home now. (Tom, Sandy, Brent, Julie and Halle drove all night from Denver. Getting on a plane with an oxygen tank is not as easy as it seems...) Halle's off the O2 and excited that Santa came by her house while she was gone. So it's back to normal- just a snot and cough induced normal. Here are some pics from our trip.

Here's how Thomas spent his first sleigh ride- asleep.

Can you say Christmas ham?

Playing with Dad before opening presents.

All tuckered out.

This is our 2nd Christmas bath. Thomas decided since it was his last day to wear Christmas pj's for the year he'd give us a reason to change his clothes a couple of times...

By the way, Thomas' big Christmas surprise was his first tooth. His lower front left tooth broke through Christmas morning. The right tooth is not far behind. My little man is growing up...

Down home Christmas

We started our holiday excursion by going to Alvin for the annual Forgy family gathering. My great-grandmother's kids, their kids, and their kids and so on still get together before Christmas. It's never complete without Granny's chicken and dumplings. Of course, Brandon, T and I hit so much traffic in Conroe trying to get home, by the time we got there all of my carnivorous cousins had killed the dumplings. Christmas was ruined... just kidding. We had a great time seeing everyone.

T and Aunt Jana. Teething, anyone?

T gave Big Al a Bucket Buddy for Christmas. Of course the gift wasn't complete until Thomas, Big Al's real bucket buddy, got in the gift.

Thomas got Jungle Book- because you have those "Bear Necessities..." I know it's stuck in your head now too!

Thomas got his first BIG red wagon from Mama B and Big Al. We didn't get to take a ride because the weather got nasty on Saturday. But we're looking forward to a walk with Big Al soon.

Family picture with Santa. We went and rode the Christmas train and took pictures with Santa before the Cowboys game.

Now the next leg in our journey begins. It's off to the Powers' Christmas. I'll post all the goodies in a bit.

Rocker Baby

Can you see it?

It's slightly camoflauged here...

Yep, that's right- his first mohawk. Thanks Megan and Julie for stylin' my little man's hair.

Saying hello to Pheobe...

and Pheobe returning the favor.

6 month stats

I'm a little late on this because of our ear infection scare and the infamous fall last week. However a fever and bruise free Thomas got his 6 month check up yesterday and passed with flying colors. The little man is up to 17 lbs 6 oz (50%) and 27 inches (75%!) The fact that he's a chunky monkey was confirmed yesterday.
But today is a different story. We've entered the realm of post-shots fever and fussiness. So, after a dose a Tylenol, a coldish shower with Brandon and a lot of whining, Thomas has convinced his dad to stay at home today. I don't think Brandon is complaining too much considering he's back in bed asleep with the little man...:)

He's having a very serious conversation with his dragon...

By the way (this is for the Scandia girls), I'm having a "Bit-O-Honey. Can I Tell You?" moment. I stopped and got kolaches on the way back from Waco yesterday and they are worth every hip enlarging calorie. (Ruth- I know you're smiling!)

First taste

Thomas had his first taste of PEAS this week. Although his father is morally opposed to peas of any kind - Thomas seemed to enjoy them.

Chowin down!

Hrmmm...Maybe I should have asked for bananas.

Pea-drunk Thomas.

Yea! No more peas! Tonight we start pears - I can't wait!

Where's Thomas?

The Santa hat might have been a little big...

And they all fall down

Thomas fell victim to his first encounter of the klutzy mom kind. In my defense, there was a very large brown lab and three inch heels involved. Since we had literally just made an appointment at the doctor to have his ears checked AGAIN, we packed up the car and drove on in. The nurse tried to comfort me by telling me that if I was going to fall with my child and let him hit his head on the baseboard, I let him hit in the thickest part of the skull... Oh so comforting...

Here's the damage. The picture doesn't do it justice. However, the 6 month pictures we had scheduled for last Saturday morning do. The photographer was so kind to mention, "That's quite a big bump there. We'll just take pictures from the other side..."
Oh, and if you think it doesn't look that bad, Brent (of the Natalie variety) asked as soon as we sat down to dinner in a dimly lit Mi Cocina on Saturday night, "Did he bump his head, or something?" Keep telling me it's not that bad, Brandon. I still don't believe it.

He loves to reach for his bottle. He knows what it's for, but hasn't quite mastered getting it to his mouth and keeping it there yet.

Chillin' in my TFO hat. (I'm trying to get Brandon to post it on the TFO site...)

Love/Hate Relationship

I love my new dishwasher because I hate washing bottles and their various annoying parts. However, I forgot to start the dishwasher last night, and when I realized my forgetfulness this morning, it was just in time for me to get in the shower. Not wanting to take a freezing shower due the the AWESOME plumbing in our house (you have to announce to the world you're in the shower, otherwise something as innocent as someone turning on the kitchen faucet could cause you to lose 2.6 years of your life due to shock), I had to wait to start the dishwasher until post shower. This is a really long story to tell you I'm waiting on the dishwasher to finish so I can pack up and leave... and so I'm posting pictures from the last week.

Hey- I know you!

Daddy's giving me a zurbert.

My first experience with wrapping paper. No, he's not opening an early Christmas present, it's a baby gift... which reminds me I need to write a thank you note.

I love Morgan's Elmo chair.

Thomas and Morgan.

Congrats to the Jeff, Christy and Big Sister Morgan. They welcomed baby sister Hayden yesterday!
