Went to the OB/Gyn yesterday for my check-up and all was well. (Except for waiting and hour and a half to see the doctor and him take less than 5 minutes with me... The joys of our healthcare system.)
The baby's heartbeat was very strong and fast. Don't ask how many beats per minute. I don't know. My doctor was running so far behind that he literally heard the heartbeat, assured me all was bueno, and was out the door. I did find out that we will know the sex of the baby in late January. (So, mom, no more buying cute little girl bloomers until January. My daughter will always have coordinated undergarments but I will not dress my son in panties that match his outfit... no matter how cute they are.)
I can tell you that hearing the heartbeat has got to be one of the (for lack of a better term) neatest things in life. Knowing that you have something truly alive, growing inside of you is amazing. The miracle and meaning of life all wrapped up in one moment.
I'll keep you guys posted as things happen. I go back for my next checkup between Christmas and New Year's.
By the way- How 'bout them Aggies? 12-7 over t.u. is a beautiful thing!
