Happy 4th of July

Things have been quite exciting around here in the last 24 hours. DFW airport (ie our house) got a record amount of rain yesterday. I'm guessing it was the 2+ inches we got in less than an hour last night. I was busy being the good Holly Homemaker yesterday- folding laundry, cooking dinner. Go into the kitchen via the dining room and see water on the floor. I just assume that one of the dogs got freaked from the monstrous lightning and go to get a towel to start cleaning up. In the kitchen I go to find water EVERYWHERE, including the living room. The water in the dining room had flowed in from the pantry through the kitchen and on in to the front of the house. We think we caught it in time. Brandon dug another trench on the side of house. It's our feeble attempt to keep the water that comes under the fence from coming back into our house. I think it's time we have a serious discussion with our neighbors about their drainage problem that leads to our flooding problem.
Anywho- here are some pictures for our families. We hope the Powers/Walkers are having a blast in Granby at the rocking parade and that Mama B and Big Al take the day to rest and get well. Happy 4th everyone!
